Denial of Service Attack Hits CrystalTech
CrystalTech (crystaltech.com) experienced a distributed denial of service attack that resulted in downtime, according to a notice posted in the forum of the CrystalTech Web site at 9:07 pm on Thursday.

The posting to the forum, made by Tim Uzzanti, chief executive officer of the Phoenix, Arizona-based company said CrystalTech was currently experiencing a denial of service attack. "Our network administrators are working on blocking the offending parties," said the message. "All systems are running correctly and will continue to operate properly once the attacks are blocked."

According to Uzzanti, CrystalTech's network was slow and down periodically as the company attempted to block the attack and diagnose its systems' status.

The problem was quickly resolved, said CrystalTech. "We currently have this attack blocked and will be monitoring it closely for any additional suspicious activity," said Uzzanti.

It is not clear how long the attack lasted. A CrystalTech subscriber, posting on Webhostingtalk.com, said service appeared to be down for about 45 minutes.
