Cyber-Squatters Run For Cover

ONLINESECURITY™ COMPLETES BETA PROGRAMING ON GLOBAL CYBER-SQUATTING TRACKING SEARCH ENGINE

LOS ANGELES, CA – August 8, 2000 - OnlineSecurity, Inc., a Los Angeles, California based-Network Security and Internet Investigative firm, today announced that it has completed beta programming on the OnlineSecurity iProtect™ Tracker, an automated program for the identification, tracking and enforcement laws against cyber-squatters.

iProtect Tracker identifies the domain names (active or otherwise) that an individual or company has registered, correlating the search information based on common attributes such as street addresses, variations on the registrants name(s), similar email addresses and telephone numbers, and the commonality of name servers. Manuel Beltran, CTO of OnlineSecurity said: “This proprietary subsequent search capability is a key component for identifying squatters trying to hide their true identity by using an alias or different registrant names.”

The iProtect Tracker will search USENET newsgroups, message boards, auction classifieds and domain name resellers to identify offers for the sale or trade of the disputed names by the offending registrants. OnlineSecurity’s cyber investigators will supplement the iProtect Tracker by conducting Internet investigations to determine if the squatter has had similar formal or informal allegations filed against them.

“The development of the iProtect Tracker will compliment the OnlineSecurity’s suite of automated iProtect products (intellectual property rights online tracking and enforcement computer technology). The integration of cutting edge products with our unique services help OnlineSecurity maintain its position as the leading Internet investigative firm,” said Erik Laykin, President of OnlineSecurity.
