FBI'S PRIVATE SECTOR CRITICAL INFRASTRUCTURE TASK FORCE NAMES NEW VICE PRESIDENT FOR LOS ANGELES
OnlineSecurity's Erik Laykin Seeks to Expand Local Business Community Awareness of Infragard Program

LOS ANGELES (4/29/02) - Erik Laykin, President of OnlineSecurity®, was elected as the new Vice President for FBI's Infragard, LA Chapter. In his new capacity, Mr. Laykin will work to continue strengthening the critical communication infrastructure within Southern California's private, public and government institutions. Specifically, Mr. Laykin plans to expand local business community awareness of the important resources available through Infragard via new outreach campaigns that leverage the power of the web as a data dissemination tool. Mr. Laykin commented, "Southern California business leaders need to have someone to turn to when espionage, fraud or terrorist plots are suspected. Infragard provides that network."

"In its nascent stage, Infragard has a very specific mandate to build out reliable channels that will educate the public and private sectors on national and local security issues." Erik Laykin reaffirms, "Because the local risk of actual or cyber terrorism has not diminished, our goal is to continue to push forward our vision of coordinated security efforts within the private sector to protect Southern California's critical infrastructure."

Mr. Laykin, a founding member of the Infragard organization in Los Angeles was previously the Chairman of the Strategic Information Committee and is the President and Founder of OnlineSecurity®, an internationally recognized Information Technology Risk Mitigation firm headquartered in West Los Angeles.
