OnlineSecurity President Erik Laykin to Discuss Issues Facing China's IT Infrastructure Development
LOS ANGELES, CA., April 22 - Erik Laykin, President of OnlineSecurityŌ and Vice President of FBI's LA Chapter of Infragard has been selected by American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham, People's Republic of China) to participate in this year's Independent Power Producers Forum (IPPF), taking place from May 8 to 12 in Shanghai. Mr. Laykin will be presenting on the emerging trends and vulnerabilities facing China's private energy sector as it relates to Information Technology (IT) infrastructure.
Mr. Laykin brings to these proceedings extensive consulting experience with American-based energy companies such as Sempra, Chevron/Texaco, Mobile/Exxon and Southern California Edison. He will be sharing insights collected from his recent speaking engagement at the Oil and Gas Conference in Dubai, Abu Dhabi.
"China is going through and exciting expansion period; it's like America's Industrial Revolution on a high dose of caffeine." Mr. Laykin wrote from his recent work in China. "Progress in cities such as Shanghai and Beijing accelerates exponentially every day and IT acts as one of the engines propelling the changes ahead. While these advancements have opened new vistas, they have also created new risks for fraud, theft, copyright infringement, digital terrorist attacks and other cyber crimes. It will be important for China to partner with other nations to explore for valuable lessons in both preventative and reactive measures against cyber assaults in their energy sectors."
