	Mike Prosser - Symantec Corp. Posted: Jul 23 2003 Contributor Mike Prosser is principal trends analyst at Symantec where he provides in-depth research in support of Symantec’s Global Managed Security Services. Prosser also supports the Symantec Internet Security Threat Report, a comprehensive, globally-recognized semi-annual report deriving insights on cyber attack trends from vulnerability, malicious code, firewall and intrusion detection data world-wide. In this role, Prosser is responsible for maintaining currency with the security implications of new and potential next-generation technology in the IT security arena in support of Managed Security Services. Prosser has also developed a number of white papers and presentations in his area of expertise. In an earlier role, Prosser was research technical lead, Incident Response Manager for Symantec where he was responsible for comprehensive information technology security vulnerability and exploit research in support of Symantec’s Security Response team. Prior to joining Symantec, Prosser was manager, Technical Research for L-3 Network Security, LLC where he developed a security database of thousands of information system vulnerabilities and safeguards for world-class Risk Management and vulnerability assessment tools. Before that Prosser held the position of senior research engineer, NetRISK for Trident Data Systems where he implemented a vulnerability database for NetRISK, a vulnerability management / risk assessment product used by Fortune 500 companies, major corporations and government agencies. He also worked for General Research Corporation and the United States Air Force in various leadership and management roles. Prosser earned a M.A. in Computer Resource Management from Webster University and a B.S. in Management Studies/Technical Management from the University of Maryland. Additionally, Prosser is a Certified Computer Information System Security Professional (CISSP). Go Top
