Rating / Review

Score 9 out of 10
CK Global Cyberkey is a token based security system that provides ease of use and technical capabilities at a low cost. CyberKey is an ATM card-size CD that authenticates with a User ID and PIN# to supply an encrypted secret password to applications, servers, and intranets. The system is easy for end-users to use as it just requires that they insert the CD, enter their user ID and their PIN#. The PIN# is an easy to remember 4 digit number which minimizes the risk from stolen passwords, easily guessed passwords, and post it notes exposure. In addition as it is a token system, the User ID and PIN# only work with the CD that they are matched to. This eliminates the risk that hackers will gain access to a system by calling users and posing as the IT staff to acquire user names and passwords. The system can be administered by the IT staff and individual cards can be turned on or off which mitigates against risk created by stolen or lost cards. The system receives a 9 out of 10 in OnlineSecurity’s certification program; the single point was taken off as CK Global needs to improve their documentation for installation and maintenance.
